DIY Drain Cleaning Tips To Help Save You Money
Thursday, March 18th, 2010It’s not always necessary to call a plumber or a septic service for a minor clog so I’m going to give you some money saving Do-It-Yourself drain cleaning tips. Of course, you will need to be able to use a plunger. And maybe even boil some water. I’ll try to walk you thru this but just bear in mind that if these drain cleaning tips don’t work you might still need to call that plumber guy.
The easiest way to clean your drain if it’s clogged is to use a Plumber’s Helper, otherwise called a plunger. You can pick them up just about anywhere. I know hardware stores have them and I think you can even get them in the cleaning products aisle at the grocery store and they’re only about five bucks. If you are working on your double sided sink in the kitchen you’ll need to completely cover the drain that’s not clogged or the forced air from the plunger will just go in one drain and out the other. If you’re working on a single sink, like in your bathroom, you will need to cover the overflow valve for the same reason.
