It is always better to replace an old and damaged toilet rather than repairing it. Installing a new toilet is not very difficult and do not require much time. In a toilet you can also get gaskets, washers and hardware for fitting the tank to the bowl.
However you might need to buy a few parts like toilet bowl, toilet tank, toilet seat, two 1/4″ bolts for bowl to flange, wax ring, 20″ water supply with fitting at valve or floor connection and tools like pair of channel pliers, bucket and screw driver for installing a new toilet.
Before stating the installation, shut off the water to the toilet. Now remove the water left in tank and bowl after you flush the toilet. Using a pair of channel pliers or a small pipe wrench (8″), remove the nut where the water line fastens to the ballcock valve.
Next use a small crescent wrench and remove two 1/4″ nuts holding the bowl to the floor flange. You can now remove old toilet and also the water line from valve or fitting at floor or wall. Now you are ready to install your new toilet.

Floor tiles are a great investment in your home. They’re attractive, virtually never wear out and they’re easily cared for. Flooring can make a dramatic difference in the appearance of your bathroom.
More advantageous part is you can install them yourself. The energy required to lay bathroom floor tile is worth the effort – doing it yourself will save you money. Here’s how to lay bathroom floor tile.
Before getting into the installation of the tiles, first pull up the existing flooring from the bathroom floor and scrape up adhesive residue. Clean off all the accumulated debris from the floor surface.
Do away with the old existing molding around the walls and the floor. Use a wet saw to cut the edge tiles. Before installing the tiles, it is always advisable to take the appropriate measurements of the bathroom floor.
Lay out your tile in the desired pattern. Use cardboard to set the design first so you will have the center square. Make a cardboard template sized to match the decorative bathroom tiles. Mix the mortar with enough water to do a small section of your tile. Use the flat edge of your trowel to lay the mortar down on the bathroom floor. Then use the trowel’s notched edge to create uniform ridges.

Any detachable/portable 110-volt or higher voltage wiring that is used to transfer power from an outlet or power source to a power consuming device is referred to as an extension cord. Typically, an extension cord has one male plug on one end and one to three receptacles on the other end. Extension cords make it far easier to use electricity where it’s needed.
However, several investigations illustrate major accident patterns associated with extension cords, namely children putting extension cords in their mouths, overloaded cords, worn or damaged cords, and tripping over cords. Since there are right and wrong ways to use the extension cord, a little wrong application would lead to disaster and even death.
Below are some of the safety suggestions that one should go by so as to keep themselves safe and secure. Firstly, one should make use of the extension cord only when needed and too on the temporary basis.
In case you find the cord damaged, replace the extension cord with new one that has higher current rating. Be sure to look for an extension cord with the same number of conductors as the one being replaced. However, one should also take care that he/ she uses polarized extension cords with the polarized appliances.

The installation work of roof shingle is an extremely difficult job that is generally done with the help of an expert. In case you want to complete the task yourself, consider some of the below mentioned instructions before performing the task. These useful tips would not only save your money but also precious time as well.
First of all, measure the total area of your roof. This will provide you with the information about the quantity of the material needed. Among the roofing materials, you have to purchase the shingles, roofing felt and nails. You will easily find all these items at any of the home construction or repair shops.
To calculate the total area (square feet area), multiply the length of the roof with the breadth and the resulting sum is the square feet area.
Take account of the roofing felt you are going to purchase. The quantity of the roofing felt must be equal to the square footage area of the roof. Coming on to the shingles, they are available in ‘squares’ that are in a set of three to four shingles. The total number of shingles you are going to purchase can be easily calculated. Divide the total square feet area with one hundred and the resulting amount is the number of shingles you will need. Do not forget about the nails and purchase three pounds of nails per square foot.

Replacing a leaking or broken sink drain is not such a difficult task that it will require the assistance of a professional plumber. You can unscrew the sink tail-piece by unbolting the nuts that are holding it in place.

Septic tank along with drain field gives rise to a small sewage treatment system. All the human waste and water from home goes to this septic tank only. This tank normally have a rectangular shape which in located under the ground. Generally, it is made up of concrete and it is divided into chambers. Each chamber has different purposes like the lowest chamber contains most of the solid and middle chamber contains comparatively clean water.
Waste from toilets, showers and sinks generally move to a septic tank. There in the tank the solid waste easily settles in the bottom most chamber and treated water move to the middle chamber after being treated from the bacteria.
The construction of a septic tank should be in a way that the microorganism could easily break and digest the sludge. For this, the septic tank should be constructed to have inlet, overflow and outlet valves diagonal to each other so that the flow of stream is in vertical pipes.
The semi-purified water moves to the second chamber via the overflows that are constructed such that the upward motion of water prevents larger particles from flowing into the second chamber.

In case you are using a private septic tank system for your home then you need to take care of its pumping and maintenance. For pumping of septic tank, you first need to find out the time interval in which this pumping should be done. This is basically decided by certain factors like size of septic tank, members in your family and amount of waste going inside the septic tank.
A septic tank basically has three different layers. The solid particles of the waste settles at the bottom of the tank and form the bottom most layer. The light weighted solid rises to the top and forms the top most layer and the middle layer is of treated water that goes to leaching field through various outlet pipes.
If septic tank pumping is not done periodically the sludge can build up to a level such that it begins to exit the outlet pipe of the septic tank and spread throughout the leaching field. In short the sludge can clog the leaching field. Repairing a leaching field is extremely expensive and replacing one can cost upwards of $20,000.
