Throw Some Shrimp On The Bar-B – Aussie Grills
Aussie Grills are made be MECO (Metal Engineering Corp.), which started out as a simple metal fabrication shop in 1959. It wasn’t until 1999, forty years later, that the began to make charcoal and electric grills in the Greeneville, Tennessee facility. Since that time, they’ve quickly set the standard for the production of water smoker grills as well.
When you are searching for that perfect grill, have a few things in mind as you go shopping:
* Where will you place the grill?
* What will your fuel source be?
* How much room do you have?
* Do you want something that blends in, or stands out?
* How much money do I have to spend?
* Do you just need a plain Jane grill or is your ego in control?
* Try to find a grill that lasts 10 years instead of 3 years
* BTU’s aren’t exactly everything, look at the overall picture.
The Bushman, Bondi, and Monaro series Aussie grills each come with porcelain coated hood and bowl, stainless steel burners, Porcelain Flavor Activator, steel cart, push button ignition, and a tray for storing accessories. The Adventure series is a pre-assembled portable gas grill that operates off compact propane tanks for nine hours of cooking time. Adjustable legs allow you to put this model anywhere you travel, operating with 5500 BTUs.
Another portable grill offering is the charcoal fueled Walk-A-bout series. It’s completely pre-assembled and folds up for easy toting; it also comes with wheels for mobility on-site. You can control the temperature easily with hood and bowl vents.
Are you looking for a tabletop model? MECO has that, too! There is 200 square inches to the cooking surface, thermostatic controls, runs with 1500 watts and has three positions that include one that is perfect for rotisseries. Feel like you’re smokin’? Aussie covers that, as well, with a 351 square inch surface, heat resistant wood sides and handles, flavor channels directing smoke for the best flavor and steel legs.
To care for your grill, you may want to do a few things. You can season your cast iron by washing it with soapy water. To ready your Aussie grill for the season, you simply need to remove any dirt and dust, clean it again with the soapy water, and it will be ready to go. No need to jump through hoops to get your grill ready for another summer of fun! Lava rocks and briquettes are not needed, either. The Flavor Activator does the same thing, but better. Wire brush you iron grill parts occasionally so that rust will not occur. Never use oven cleaner on a grill, it is too corrosive.
MECO delivers a well rounded series of Aussie grills. Whatever your purpose, grilling or smoking, outdoor picnics or neighborhood cook-offs, you’ll find a unique solution..
